Santiago Peak Formation: Metavolcanic The Santiago Peak Formation provides San Diego's construction aggregate industry with metavolcanic rock.

Alluvial Valley: Sand and gravel
Alluvial valleys, or rivers, are San Diego's most abundant source of sand. However, regulations and depletion have essentially halted sand production in San Diego County requiring large importation projects for sand, mainly from Mexico, Riverside and Imperial Counties. |
